Are you tired all the time? Closer shares five simple lifestyle changes that can help combat your fatigue

Get Moving: According to the experts from Britain’s National Health Service, “You might feel that exercise is the last thing on your mind. But, in fact, regular exercise will make you feel less tired in the long run, so you’ll have more energy. Even a single 15-minute walk can give you an energy boost, and the benefits increase with more frequent physical activity.”

Stay Hydrated: “If your body is dehydrated, one of the first signs is fatigue,” points out the folks at Harvard Medical School. “[So] drink water throughout the day. Although individual needs vary, the Institute of Medicine recommends men should aim for about 15 cups of fluids per day, and women about 12 cups.”

Eat Smartly: To fight off fatigue, “include a balance of protein, fruits and vegetables, complex carbohydrates and polyunsaturated fats in your daily diet,” say experts from Scripps Health. “For an energizing snack, nibble on nuts and seeds, like almonds, sunflower seeds and Brazil nuts, which can provide sustained energy.”

Get Relaxed: Per the University of Rochester Medical Center, “It’s important to consider the emotional aspects of fatigue. Feeling on edge or stressed, having a lot on your mind, or constantly thinking of things you need to do can make you feel physically tired. Take time every day to do something you enjoy. And stay connected with [those] who are a source of positive support.”

Turn Off: “Turn off the tech. Studies have shown that looking at your mobile phone, tablet, TV or laptop screen right before bed actually affects your ability to sleep,” say health care providers at Providence. “This is because our bodies are programmed to respond to light as a time for wakefulness, not sleep. So switch off at least 30 minutes before you go to sleep.”
