With pregnant Meghan Markle quickly approaching her due date, royal fans have been going to extreme lengths to find out any bit of information they can about Baby Sussex. When the Duke and Duchess of Sussex first announced in October 2018 that they’re expecting their first child, their pregnancy announcement from Kensington Palace stated Meghan could give birth in “spring 2019.”

But it turns out the royal bundle of joy is expected to arrive a little sooner than everyone thought. Since Meghan, 37, recently revealed her baby is due in “late April,” eagle-eyed royal fans have realized that the first Sussex child could actually share a birthday with his or her cousins Princess Charlotte or Prince Louis.

Since Louis, 9 months, was born on April 23 and Charlotte, 3, was born on May 2, Meghan and Prince Harry‘s child’s birth date could easily fall on one of those days, too. Wouldn’t it be so fun for Baby Sussex to share a birthday with one of his or her cousins? Think of the royal birthday parties that could be held for the tots in the future!

The only thing more exciting than Meghan’s due date is the fact that Baby Sussex could also make royal history. Because Meg — who was born and raised in California! — may not have her application for British citizenship approved before she gives birth, The Sunday Times has reported that her baby could be the first Anglo-American in the royal family. If you’re wondering why that title would be so special, it’s because Harry, 34, and Meghan’s child would have dual nationality and be the first British royal to ever have that honor. Cool, right?

Meghan Markle

“I’m quite sure we haven’t had another British-American baby born into the royal family. But Meghan married an English prince so to all intents and purposes that baby will be British,” royal historian Hugo Vickers told The Sunday Times. “For whatever reason, we don’t seem to pay much attention to the nationality of royal brides when it comes to their children. We just subsume them into the royal family.”

The only way that Baby Sussex would not make history is if Meg renounced her American citizenship once she earned her British citizenship. But since Meghan has made it very clear she’s proud of her upbringing and being American, we bet that won’t be the case and the couple’s little one will earn that super rare title!
