We’ve been hearing a lot about Michelle Obama recently, and that’s mainly because she’s in the midst of a book tour for her memoir Becoming. But the former First Lady got more than just a crowd of eager readers while on her latest stop in Washington D.C. — she actually got her own husband, Barack Obama to pay her a visit.

According to People, the former president, 57, appeared on-stage with Michelle, and he even brought flowers because the man is still oozing with charm. “This is like — you know when Jay-Z comes out during the Beyoncé concert? Like, ‘Crazy in Love’?” Barack said, according to CNN“It’s the same thing. It’s just a little sample to enhance the concert.”

You can even see a video of Barack’s surprise visit here.

This has been quite the book tour for Michelle as not only have we seen Barack stop by to hand her some flowers, but she also mentioned to Ellen DeGeneres that she once tried to escape the White House.

“When you’re in the residence, there’s so much bullet-proof glass that sometimes you don’t hear what’s going on outside,” Michelle said. “And we were having dinner and we were listening… we know there was a celebration happening but we didn’t realize that thousands of people were gathering in front of the White House at that time to celebrate. And my staff was calling me, everybody was celebrating, people were crying, and I thought, I want to be in that. Also, we had worked to make sure that the White House was lit up in the LGBT colors. It was beautiful.”

“So we had made that plan and I was sitting and watching it on TV and realizing, I’m living this,” Michelle continued. “I said, ‘I have to break out of this. I want to go outside and I want to be a part of that celebration.’ So I had the bright idea, I’m going outside.”

And eventually, she escaped. I have a feeling there are more surprises to come during Michelle’s book tour.
