Remember when Sasha Farber and Emma Slater had the most adorable Dancing With the Stars proposal ever?! The engaged couple’s romance first started back in 2011 and they dated until 2014 before taking a bit of a break. Thankfully, Emma, 28, and Sasha, 33, were back on by 2015 and on Oct. 4, 2016, Sasha popped the question to his love live on DWTS.
“Baby, I’ve wanted to do this for such a long time. I love you so, so much,” he said before getting down on one knee while on-stage. “Will you marry me?” After Emma said “Yes!” the two embraced as streamers dropped around them. So cute! At the time, Sasha presented Emma with a stunning, 4-carat, oval pink sapphire stone surrounded by smaller diamonds. The bauble — which Sasha has described as looking “vintage” and being “dusty rose” in color — was purchased from Matthew’s Jewelry Store in Studio City, CA. In the days following Sasha’s romantic proposal, Emma took to Instagram to give DWTS fans a close-up look at her new engagement ring. “I can’t believe that’s my finger wearing the second most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen! The sapphire in this literally changes color in different lights, I’ve never seen anything like it, I’m so unbelievably in love with it! I’ve always been a colored stone person, and I just can’t believe this is my engagement ring,” the TV star captioned the clip.
The couple later opened up to People about the special ring. “She had gone shopping and picked it. I spoke to her sister and she told me and I went and got it,” Sasha revealed while Emma added, “It’s the same color as my mom’s ring. I actually don’t like pink. I say it’s a wine color.” Emma also revealed she and Sasha hoped to be engaged for about a year before tying the knot.

“We’ve been together five-and-a-half years. We bought a house recently and this feels like the natural progression. My mother said once that marriage should feel natural and not like a surprise. It should be expected because that’s when it’s right,” she revealed. “It’s already felt like I’ve been his fiancé and wife for years now. Apart from the heaviness of my arm [because of the ring], it feels quite natural.” No word yet on when Emma and Sasha — who are from England and Australia, respectively — may exchange vows, but we can’t wait until they do!
