Well, this is awkward. Just a few days after the new Dancing With the Stars pros were revealed, ABC announced fan-favorites Sasha Farber and Jenna Johnson have been seemingly demoted to troupe dancers for Season 25. And, frankly, the internet is not happy Jenna and Sasha won’t be paired with celebs on DWTS‘ upcoming season.

The Season 25 lineup of troupe dancers was announced by ABC via the official Dancing With the Stars Instagram page on Monday, Aug. 28. “What’s with Sasha not being a pro? Definitely one of my favorites! Bad move, in my opinion,” one fan commented on the pic with another adding, “Jenna should really be a pro by now… I mean, maybe it’s a personal choice on her end but if not, you guys gotta make her a pro!” Sasha, 33, and Jenna, 23, will be joined by Brandon Armstrong, Artur Adamski, Britt Stewart, and Hayley Erbert as background dancers.

Following the troupe announcement, Sasha himself took to his Twitter account to share his reaction to the news. First, he simply posted a sad face emoji but later returned to Twitter to thank his followers for their kind words. “I’m very lucky to have such amazing support from my fans! I love them all.” Sasha — who is engaged to DWTS pro Emma Slater — has previously been a pro dancer on four Dancing With the Stars seasons. He was paired with Jersey Shore star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi for Season 17, with The Facts of Life star Kim Fields for Season 22, with Little Women: LA star Terra Jolé for Season 23, and Olympic gymnast Simone Biles for Season 24.

Jenna — who is dating DWTS pro Val Chmerkovskiy — has served as a pro dancer on just one past Dancing With the Stars season. She was paired with former Disney star Jake T. Austin during Season 23. Jenna has also appeared on several seasons of So You Think You Can Dance. Though fans are surprised Sasha and Jenna will be in the troupe for Season 25, many people pointed out that Sasha could have been bumped as a pro because fan-favorite star Mark Ballas has decided to return to DWTS after a two-season hiatus. Season 25 of Dancing With the Stars premieres on Monday, Sept. 18 at 8/7c.
