We still can’t believe that Doris Day, a legendary Hollywood actress, died in the early morning of Monday, May 13, at the age of 97. After her foundation confirmed the devastating news that she had passed away, many of Doris’ friends took to social media to remember the late star.

“The great Doris Day left us and took a piece of the sun with her. She brightens our lives and lived out her life with dignity. May she rest peacefully,” Kate Hudson‘s mom, Goldie Hawn, tweeted. William Shatner added, “Condolences to the family of Doris Day. She was the World’s Sweetheart and beloved by all. Que Será, Será!”

The outpouring of love didn’t stop there! Katie Couric mourned the Pillow Talk actress’ death on Twitter, saying she was “one of a kind.” Boy George tweeted Doris’ song “Perhaps Perhaps Perhaps” on Spotify and wrote, “God Bless Doris Day! x What a voice. What a legend. R.I.P.”

According to The Doris Day Animal Foundation, the Hollywood star “had been in excellent physical health for her age, until recently contracting a serious case of pneumonia, resulting in her death.” As soon as Paul McCartney‘s 47-year-old daughter, Stella McCartney, found out the news she immediately shared her condolences online.

“The one, the only, the woman who inspired so much of what I do … Doris Day I love you, my calamity Jane,” the designer tweeted. “An iconic woman who I was hugely honored to meet and share precious moments with. Rest in peace x.”

It seemed like almost every great star in Hollywood was impacted by Doris’ amazing personality. Musician Tony Bennett said he and wife Susan Crow are taking the devastating news pretty hard, too. “Susan and I are saddened to hear of Doris Day’s passing. She was a wonderful friend to us and a lovely and very talented lady,” he tweeted. “We will miss her beautiful smile and it was such a thrill to appear on The Doris Day Show back in 1970.”

RIP, Doris.
