‘DWTS’ Pro Peta Murgatroyd Gushes Over Motherhood: ‘It Just Amazes Me Every Day’

Dancing runs in the family! Peta Murgatroyd and her husband, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, are already noticing some similarities between themselves and their two-year-old son, Shai. For instance, the Dancing With the Stars couple aren’t the only ones who like to express themselves through a very creative art form. Their son, Shai, likes to get down on the dance floor too!

“He loves music. He loves to dance, but we haven’t put him into anything formal, professional training,” Peta exclusively shared with Closer Weekly at the grand reopening of Cleo in Hollywood. “I think he’s way too young for that right now.”

Even though it’s too early to tell if Shai has a knack for dancing, Peta just enjoys the time that she gets to spends with her little man at home. “The amount of love that you have for your child, it just amazes me every day,” she told Closer. “I just wake up and if I’ve had a bad day, if anything has gone wrong, he and Maks are the only people that could really just get me out of my slump. They’re just amazing.”

Shai has been surprising Peta every day too. He’s been growing up so fast that it’s been hard for his mom to keep track of his likes and his dislikes. “One minute they love strawberry ice cream, the next day you give it to them as a treat and he’s like, ‘No, I don’t want it any more mom. I’m over it,'” she joked, “And I’m like, ‘Oh my God. When did this start happening?'”

Plus, being a mom has been keeping Peta very busy. Even though she doesn’t know if she’ll be apart of Season 28 of Dancing With the Stars, she’s been happy trying her luck in the acting world. “I’m auditioning every like couple of days for new movies, new TV shows and stuff like that. So that’s really what I’ve been doing,” she said, admitting that starring in a superhero movie is her dream.

“I do like comic movies, super women, superhero roles. That’s my thing. I think cause maybe I come up from an athletic background, I feel like I could really showcase my skills so to speak,” Peta revealed. “But yeah I think that would be like a top thing. Like Captain Marvel for instance. That would just be like a dream.”
