Fans Can’t Believe How Good This ‘80s Rock Icon Still Looks Today
Rick Springfield, 76, stuns fans with his youthful looks and fit physique. The ‘Jessie’s Girl’ singer credits daily workouts and a young mindset for his energy.
More than 50 years after first becoming a heartthrob, Rick Springfield still has fans doing double takes. The “Jessie’s Girl” singer is now 76, but many fans say they can hardly believe how youthful and fit the rocker still looks.
In 2024, Springfield told People, “I still feel like I’m in my 20s in my head.” He admitted, however, “And then you see people dying from old age disease and you go, ‘Wow, I’m the same age as old people.'”
The singer credits daily workouts and weight training for helping him stay in shape, though he says mindset matters just as much. “I still think like a 25-year-old,” he told ABC News.
Not only does Springfield not feel old, but he hasn’t found that performing his hit songs has gotten old, either. “I love what I do, and I have a lot of gratitude,” he said.
“These people are reacting to songs you’ve written, and it’s very meaningful to a songwriter to hear that reaction 40 years after the song was written. It’s pretty amazing. I’m very grateful,” Springfield added.
Fans love how Springfield continues to embrace his ability to perform and wow crowds.
“Dude looks better now [than] in the 80’s,” declared another fan.
“I would like to know what he’s doing because he’s performing shirtless and is absolutely ripped,” someone else admitted.
One fan, after seeing a shirtless picture of Springfield on Reddit, countered, “I’m 60 and I look like a melted popsicle still in the wrapper.”
However, Springfield’s enthusiastic stage presence makes some fans nervous.
“I saw him in concert about eight years ago and quite honestly I’m very worried for him because he still runs across the backs of chairs through the audience and one of these days he’s gonna fall and break a hip. Love him to death, but he needs to realize how old he is,” one fan shared on Reddit.
Springfield still has an active performance schedule, with concerts currently scheduled into October. He plays not only the songs fans have loved for decades, but he also incorporates some new music into his shows. It doesn’t sound as if he plans on slowing down anytime soon.
More than five decades after “Jessie’s Girl” made him a star, Springfield is still touring, still winning over crowds, and still surprising fans who cannot believe just how youthful the rocker looks today.
