Fans Thought Clint Eastwood Was Retired, but Then His Son Spoke Up

Many fans assumed that iconic actor and director Clint Eastwood quietly retired after directing 2024’s Juror No. 2. However, recent comments from his son, Scott Eastwood, suggest that the Hollywood legend may not be ready to make a formal announcement on that front just yet, or ever.

Eastwood turned 96 earlier this year and remains one of Hollywood’s most iconic actors and directors. While recent comments from his son, Kyle Eastwood, led many fans to believe that the legendary actor had retired, Scott says he hasn’t heard that directly from his father.

“We’ll see. I have not heard that from his mouth at all,” Scott recently told ScreenRant.

The Pacific Rim star noted, “His career in general has been something to admire, something to be inspired by, and continues to inspire me.”

“The work, the artistry that he’s done on and off screen. Producing, writing, composing, directing, acting. The body of work is incredible,” he added.

Over the course of more than six decades, Eastwood has starred in and directed some of Hollywood’s most memorable films. Even in his 90s, Eastwood has continued working behind the camera, earning accolades for continuing to work in an industry where many stars retire decades earlier.

Because Eastwood has continued working well into his 90s, even small comments about his potential retirement tend to attract attention from fans who have followed his career for generations.

While the actor’s musician son, Kyle, said during a concert that he had fond memories of working with his now-retired father, his brother Scott suggests he may have jumped the gun on the retirement talk, at least slightly.

Scott’s new comments about his father suggest that the final chapter of Eastwood’s remarkable acting and directing career may not have been fully written quite yet.
