Fleetwood Mac Forced to Cancel Concert After Drummer Mick Fleetwood Falls Ill

Concertgoers at Fleetwood Mac's latest show were left disappointed when the iconic rock band ended a recent performance after just 90 minutes.

Singer Stevie Nicks, 66, announced to the audience that the group's 67-year-old drummer suddenly became too sick to play after coming down with the stomach flu.

"Mick is really sick," she said at the band's Nebraska concert on Saturday, Jan. 17. "We feel terrible, but we can't really make him play. Give us a minute, and we'll figure out what to do."

After wrapping up the gig with two more songs — 'Go Your Own Way,' during which a drum technician played in Mick's absence, and 'Songbird' — the band cancelled the remainder of their performance.

“We’re so sorry. In all of our 40 years, this has never happened," Stevie told the crowd. “We will come back. You’ll get one and a half full-on shows."

“It’s really unfortunate,” bandmate Lindsey Buckingham added. “We’re really sorry, guys.”

This is unfortunately not the first time Fleetwood Mac has been forced to cancel a concert due to illness. In 2013, they postponed the Australian leg of their 'On With the Show' world tour when bassist John McVie, 69, was diagnosed with cancer.

The group — which also includes member Christine McVie — is scheduled to perform in Grand Rapids, Mich., tomorrow evening.
