‘General Hospital’s’ Tanisha Harper Unpacks the Jordan Ashford Pairing Nobody Saw Coming

General Hospital fans have noticed the frequency of scenes between Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) and Jordan Ashford recently, leaving them wondering if the ABC soap might be toying with an unexpected pairing. With Michael as Jordan’s new boss, their storylines put them in proximity, but the idea seemed a bit too far-fetched. Now, Tanisha Harper has confirmed that GH is indeed going there…or at least, testing the waters.

After Jordan’s boyfriend Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner) was sent to Pentonville prison, Michael hired her to take over his position as the CEO of Aurora Media. Michael and Jordan have become one another’s confidantes since then, with Michael even taking the initiative of getting Jordan an appointment with a doctor who could remove the scars she suffered in a car accident earlier this year.

It wasn’t for certain, but I knew that they were going to kind of test it out and see,” Harper told Soap Opera Digest. “At first, they were kind of just sprinkling it in; we were starting to do some scenes together here and there. But I think the writers and Frank [Valentini, executive producer] liked it, and we’ve progressed with that.”

Prior to the last few months, Jordan and Michael barely shared any scenes together, despite the many years the characters have been on the show. Michael is a legacy character born on-screen in 1997, while Jordan has been living in Port Charles since 2014.

Harper, who became the third actress to play Jordan in 2022, knows this pairing may get mixed reactions from fans, but she is ready for it.

“We’ll see what the writers have in store for us, but I do think that this could be something really interesting,” she said. “It’ll make some people mad, and some people will be here for it! So I guess we’ll see what happens.”
