Is Blake Shelton the man Gwen Stefani will spend the rest of her life with? “I hope so!” Gwen, 49, recently revealed on the Today show on Dec. 12. “I never thought I would get this moment, so it’s just really special.” Before falling in love three years ago, both survived high-profile divorces (her from Gavin Rossdale and him from Miranda Lambert), which is one reason Gwen feels “zero pressure” to get engaged to Blake, 42.

“Going through all these hard times, to get to a place where you find somebody that’s like your best friend, that you can depend on and trust, we’re just trying to be in the moment as much as we can,” she has said. That means spending lots of time together and with Gwen’s kids, Kingston, 12, Zuma, 10, and Apollo, 4. “Having them around,” Blake previously told People, “it’s so much fun!”

Blake and Gwen have been very supportive of one another and have taught each other how to love. “I’ve learned more from Gwen Stefani as a human being and how to grow as a human being than I have from anybody ever in my life. Anybody,” Blake recently revealed on the Friday, Dec. 14 episode of Today. “She’s everything that you could hope a human being could be. That’s what Gwen is.”

Blake even said that he and his beautiful girlfriend “aren’t just dating,” they’re actually “meant to be!” But when they first met, Blake had his doubts that maybe his relationship wasn’t going to work out with Gwen.

“When I was going through my divorce, I hit rock bottom, just like anybody does when they go through something that devastating. It’s a miracle that I met somebody that was going through the same exact thing that I was at the exact same moment in time,” he said. “I think in the back of our minds we both kind of thought, ‘This is a rebound deal.’” But luckily, Blake was wrong.
