How This Beloved Character’s Return is About to Turn ‘General Hospital’ Upside Down
‘General Hospital’s’ Anna Devane is expected to return Port Charles, facing a surprising love triangle, a new protege, and a new police commissioner.
General Hospital fans have felt like something has been missing since last October. That’s when the formidable Anna Devane was kidnapped from her car and placed in Wyndemere’s subbasement, where she was held for months before turning up in a French mental health facility with criminal charges pending. Now, it looks like Anna will be home soon, which means Port Charles had better brace itself because lives can change forever.
General Hospital’s Anna Will Find a Few Surprises
On April 12, GH star Chris McKenna (Jack Brennan) tweeted that Finola Hughes was on her way back to GH after a several-month hiatus. Now that the charges against Anna have been dropped, it’s only a matter of time until she is back on-screen.
Anna is in for a bit of a shock when she returns, with the biggest stunner coming when she learns how close Carly (Laura Wright) and Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) have grown in recent months. Anna and Valentin haven’t been together since 2024, but that doesn’t mean the feelings aren’t still there. Even Carly pointed out to Valentin that he’s still in love with Anna. That doesn’t mean his feelings for Carly aren’t real, but it appears GH fans will have an unexpected love triangle on its hands.
Currently, Josslyn (Eden McCoy) is in the subbasement where Anna was being held and has found the things Anna has left behind. When Anna disappeared, she knew that Joss was in the WSB, but Joss didn’t know that Anna was aware. Anna will be surprised to see what a serious agent Josslyn has become. Will she take her under her wings and mentor the young woman?
Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) has been filling in as Port Charles police commissioner while Anna has been gone and it seems as if he is enjoying the job. Will Anna have to fight to become commissioner again or might the WSB reward her with a job for all the trouble it put her through via crooked agent Ross Cullum (Andrew Hawkes)?
One thing that won’t surprise Anna is that her granddaughter, Emma (Braedyn Bruner), was the only person who refused to give up on her the entire time she was away. With Anna safely home, perhaps Emma can finally move on with her own life and her own storyline.
