Is John Travolta Reprising His Role in ‘Grease: Live’?

He may have played Danny Zuko in the original, but John Travolta isn't too keen on reprising his famous role for the new TV production of Grease: Live.

"I did it [already]," the 60-year-old actor said in a new interview. "I want to leave Danny the way he was. I don't even know what I would do in it if I did it."

Last month, Fox announced it would air a live, televised version of the 1978 musical romantic comedy in January 2016.

The network has already cast Julianne Hough as Sandy (originally portrayed by Olivia Newton-John) and Vanessa Hudgens as Rizzo (Stockard Channing) in the new production. No word yet on who will play Danny.

Though John won't be a part of the 'Grease' remake, he will return to TV for his first starring role since the popular 1970s ABC sitcom 'Welcome Back, Kotter' later this year.

The actor will both produce and appear as O.J. Simpson's defense attorney, Robert Shapiro, on the upcoming show 'American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson' in a 10-part miniseries on FX.

John spoke to 'E! News.'
