Jada Pinkett Smith Tells Willow She’s Lucky To Have Will Smith As A Dad

Having Will Smith as a father does sound like it would be quite the time, but Jada Pinkett Smith wants her kids to know just how lucky they should feel in having him as their dad.

The 49-year-old, who currently has a Facebook Watch show titled Red Table Talk, recently talked about the lack of father figure in her life, and how important it is for her own children to see how lucky they are to have Will in their lives. Jada’s brother Caleb also happened to be part of the talk, which also included Jada’s daughter, 17-year-old Willow Smith, and guest Adrienne Banfield-Jones. “I remember going through a stage with Will watching him father Willow that was just like, Oh my god, I’ll never have that! Ever!” Jada recalled.

“I alway tell Willow, I’m like, ‘Listen, I know you’re dad’s not perfect, but my god, you have a daddy.’ That is the one thing, to be able to give my kids something I didn’t have and be able to watch it.”

Jada also took this time to reflect on her own life without a father, stating, “What I had to stop looking at was that something was wrong or something wasn’t right, because poor little Jada didn’t have a daddy. I had to learn to stop focusing on what’s not going well. Focus on what’s going well.” This doesn’t relate, but Jada has quite the speaking voice. I think we would all enjoy hearing her on our next audio book.

This isn’t the first time Jada has spoke about personal things on her show as she has mentioned not being mature enough to divorce to revealing she once dated Alfonso Riberio, also known as Carlton Banks. In fact, Jada has been spilling so much tea that her kids reportedly want her to dial it back a bit.

When you’ve given your kids quite the comfortable life, and you’ve given them the freedom to do music or to constantly confuse us on Twitter, we think you have every right to say whatever you want about your family on your show.
