Janet Jackson Says She Once Thought About Shaving Her Head: ‘I Think It’s Beautiful’
Fearless! While taking to Instagram on Tuesday, March 31, Janet Jackson revealed there was once a time when she thought about shaving her head. The singer opened up about her thoughts on beauty when she posted a video of a girl shaving off her eyebrows in honor of her sister who’s battling cancer.
“This made me cry,” Janet, 53, said in the caption. “I was actually going to shave my head for the Janet tour and was going to talk to all the kids to do the same. I love a bald head, especially on a woman. I think it’s beautiful!”

The five-time Grammy Award winner then told the young lady in the video to keep her head up. After she saw her sister shave off one of her eyebrows, the little girl immediately broke down in tears. “You and your family are in my prayers,” Janet said. “Stay positive Stay strong. You’re so beautiful. Leave a [heart] below to help send love, light and support.”
After seeing that, Janet’s fans took to the comments section to write heartwarming messages to the two sisters. “What makes a woman beautiful isn’t her beauty, but what she has inside her heart. A great sister and woman,” one person commented. Another said, “Wow, she is beautiful with or without the hair. We’ll keep you guys in our prayers.”
Kelly Clarkson also shared the video of the young lady uplifting her sister. “I wish I could hug and hang [out] with these two right now,” the “Stronger” singer wrote via Twitter on Monday, March 30. “You two are amazing and your big sister is right! You both are beautiful and powerful!”
The original post of the two girls was shared on Instagram user @trillcami’s account. She penned the caption, “I LOVE YOU [with] every bone in my body. [You] fight, bitch, [and you] do it damn well. Hair does not make you. And even bald, [you] still manage to be the prettiest sister.”
She added, “Every battle [you] go through, I promise to go through it [with you], [because] that’s what [sisters do].”
