Jennifer Garner Recalls Feeling ‘Embarrassed’ When 1 of Her Kids Threw a ‘Tantrum’ at Disneyland

A day she won’t forget. Jennifer Garner hilariously revealed one of her three kids “threw a tantrum” at Disneyland once because they didn’t want to wash their hands in the bathroom.

“I saw people staring at me and recognizing me and watching me, [other] parents. And I got so embarrassed in front of them. I snatched this one up. And stuffed her hands under the sink. And I was so hardcore about it and … I still think of it and just, sorry, hunny,” Jen, 48, jokingly recalled on the August 28 episode of the Dear Media Podcast “Raising Good Humans With Dr. Aliza.”

Because she sometimes experiences moments like those, Jennifer said it’s easy for her to feel like a bad mom. “I will say that my worst parenting moments, the ones that go back that haunt me are moments where I felt embarrassed,” the Alias star explained. “Where I felt judged as a mom and I felt by my kids’ behavior and I was a horrible mom in those moments.”

Jen — who shares her three kids, Violet, 14, Seraphina, 11, and Samuel, 8, with ex-husband Ben Affleck — has been having better days with her kids in quarantine. “I think I have the perfect age kids for this,” she previously joked about social distancing with her brood amid the coronavirus pandemic to host Jimmy Fallon. “Because they’re big enough to understand and to have the conversations. ‘Like, we’re built for challenge, we can do this, we’re a tough team. Let’s learn about a vacuum cleaner.’ But they’re not so big that they’re just like, ‘Well, I don’t care. I’m going to go.’”

In quarantine, the Juno star has been keeping her little ones busy by taking them for walks on the beach and in the park. Sometimes, “they’ll play soccer or skateboard in the yard,” a source previously told Closer Weekly. Jen and her daughter Violet even spend quality time together making dinner so they can catch up.

“Violet takes after her mom and is a great cook,” the source explained. Even though Jen sometimes feels like a “horrible mom,” she would never stop being there for her kids.
