If you haven’t yet visited Chip and Joanna Gaines‘ bakery, now might be the time to book your ticket to Waco, TX. The married stars of HGTV’s Fixer Upper opened Silos Baking Co. a couple of years ago, and they’ve been wowing customers ever since with their cupcakes, cookies, and biscuits. (There’s even a “Shiplap” cupcake because of course there is!)
“The dream of owning a bakery stemmed completely from Joanna’s love of baking and cooking,” the bakery’s website says. “From a young age, Joanna delighted in spending time with her family in the kitchen. There, she learned the trade secrets to her homemade chocolate cake, Syrian donuts, chocolate chip cookies, pies, and more.”

The bakery is housed in an outbuilding at the couple’s Silos complex, the home of their Magnolia Market store. Chip and Joanna didn’t just want people to shop at the Silos, though — they also wanted their visitors to relax there. That’s why there’s a garden, a lawn, a food truck park, and this beloved bakery. “The vision behind Silos Baking Co. is that visitors would be able to feel Joanna’s love of baking and experience her classic, fresh, and unexpected style in the form of pastries, breads, and sweets,” the website explains.
And so far, Yelp reviewers love the business. It even boasts 4.5/5 rating on the site! “If you’ve seen the HGTV Fixer Upper episode where Chip and Jo build this bakery, you know just how special this place is,” writes Allison M. “I had the pleasure of visiting today… The bakery was beautiful and it was surreal being inside the building after having seen the transformation on TV.”

“If you end up in Waco and are looking for a really good cupcake, you’ve found your place,” says Brandon L. “They are really good. Worth waiting for, no matter what others say.” Sarah W. concurs, writing, “I honestly was expecting to be let down by the bakery. Thankfully, I was so very wrong. All of the cupcakes were incredible.
