She can still hear the lambs. More than a quarter-century after playing an FBI agent in The Silence of the Lambs, "I would absolutely like to go back to Clarice Starling," Jodie Foster, 55, said at the CinemaCon Big Screen Achievement Awards. "Silence was such an extraordinary experience, and she was such an amazing character. It would be great to find out more about who Clarice was as she got older."

Now, Jodie is set to star as the head of an underground hospital in the futuristic drama Hotel Artemis, her first big movie appearance in five years, and she is also a director on Netflix's Black Mirror. "I didn’t want to be the most successful director, or the highest paid, I just wanted to be somewhat of an auteur," she told The Guardian in 2017. "If that meant I made two movies my entire life and I loved them, then I was fine with that."

Jodie has kept busy in recent years with acting and directing, as well as raising her sons, Charlie, 19, and Kit, 16. "Charlie’s in college and he’s a great actor," said Jodie, adding that Kit "is a scientist and talks about things I don’t understand, and I love every minute of it." Dr. Hannibal Lecter would eat that up.

When speaking with Us Weekly, Jodie admitted that parenting has been a challenge for her. "Letting go has been challenging. And that’s what I’m doing now," she shared of her boys, whom she welcomed with her ex, Cydney Bernard. "It’s the worrying. That’s what you will find. Just because they’re asleep doesn’t mean you stop worrying about them. There’s a switch that gets turned on that never gets turned off."

So now, Jodie is focusing on her newest role. "If you can’t connect," she said, "You shouldn’t be making that movie." Here's hoping for a The Silence of the Lambs sequel!
