John Stamos’ Latest Book Comes With a Very Surprising Co-Author

After releasing his autobiography, If You Would Have Told Me, in 2023, per Amazon, Full House and General Hospital alum John Stamos is ready to debut another book next year, one meant for a much different audience. Love From Above: A Story of Tiny Birds and Their Big Meaning is a very special children’s book for a very special reason. It was co-written by Stamos’ young son, Billy.

Stamos and Son Write Children’s Story

Stamos detailed to People that the idea for this book stemmed from a story he would tell eight-year-old Billy.

“In my family, hummingbirds have always meant something more,” Stamos said. “After my dad passed, I remember my mom standing in his garden, watching a hummingbird zip by and quietly saying, ‘That’s him.’ From then on, hummingbirds became little reminders that the people we love never really leave us.”

Stamos went on to explain that Billy’s reaction to seeing hummingbirds served as the inspiration for the book.

“Years later, Billy saw two hummingbirds in our yard and said, ‘Dad, look! That’s Grandma Retta and Papa Bill,'” he said. “And just like that, the idea for this book was born.”

This isn’t Stamos’ first book idea inspired by Billy. In March, Stamos announced the impending publication of a book about fatherhood, according to People. However, as of this writing, there has been no title or release date announced. Love From Above is set for an April 20, 2027, release by Penguin Workshop.

Stamos, who came to TV fame as Blackie Parish on General Hospital and later became a household name on the ABC sitcom Full House as the beloved Uncle Jesse, shares Billy with wife, Caitlin McHugh Stamos.

Stamos told People that he also illustrated the book, saying, “Love from Above is a book from Billy and me, from our hearts to yours. We hope it brings a little comfort, a little hope, and maybe a smile the next time a hummingbird flies by.”
