Josh Brolin Apologizes for Visiting Dad James and Stepmom Barbra Streisand Amid Coronavirus

He’s sorry. Josh Brolin is apologizing after receiving backlash for visiting his stepmom, Barbra Streisand, and his dad, James Brolin, with wife Kathryn and their 1-year-old daughter, Westlyn, a.k.a “Bean,” amid the coronavirus pandemic.

“My father lives next door to us, and we had a plan to go see them and not be near them and that plan was broken and that’s our responsibility,” he said in an Instagram video. “We were going to pick something up and show Bean the pool because we don’t have a pool, and yeah, I think it was irresponsible.”

“It’s hard to be honest sometimes,” Josh, 52, continued. “It’s hard to be honest and say, ‘Maybe I screwed up,’ and I knew that that was in the air, not because of the responses, but the responses brought me back to my own truth. And, it’s humbling as hell because I know there [are] some people out there with no masks, no gloves, no interest in it. They think it’s in your head and that you’ll survive because of the immunity that’s created from your own psychic weight. But I know, for me, that’s not the case and we’ve been very responsible and I apologize.”

Josh revealed he visited his dad and stepmom in a post he already deleted from Instagram. The caption read, “There’s nothing like a good meeting up with family when all you can hear is a distant muffling of what used to be called words.”

Barbra, 77, also shared a photo of her the family holding up a sign that read, “We love you Gamma and Grampa,” outside her window. “I just love the sign that Josh and Kathryn painted yesterday when they came to see us with our little grandchild Westlyn!” the singer said. “P.S. all of the flowers are now blooming on our wishing well — we are wishing with our hearts and minds for everybody to stay well!”

It seems like Josh will stick to all social distancing rules from now on.
