Richard Gere Reportedly Trying To Save Julia Roberts After Her Alarming Weight Loss

This isn’t good. Amid reports that Julia Roberts‘ marriage to Danny Moder is collapsing, the actress has stepped out recently looking frighteningly frail. And if one person, in particular, is worried about her weight loss, that’s her former co-star Richard Gere.

“You could see that her arms are legs are legit nothing but sticks. Julia looks like she could collapse at any moment,” a source told Star in a recent issue of the magazine. “She’s not eating and she’s not sleeping, so it’s no wonder her weight has plummeted to 105 pounds.”

The insider added, “Julia broke down in his arms from all the strain and exhaustion, and Richard was there to comfort her. Julia is absolutely miserable and the word is she just poured her heart out to Richard.”

The two have been friends for years, ever since she played Vivian Ward and he played Edward Lewis in the hit 1990 rom-com Pretty Woman. “They’ve always been drawn to each other, which is why they meet for discreet dinners whenever Richard is in LA. He’ll still make time for Julia, no matter what,” the source added. “Richard is a constant in her life, and he always will be.”

It’s been reported time and time again that Julia and Danny — who married in 2002 — have been leading separate lives. Friends close to the couple even told Star that a divorce could be right around the corner. “They’ve been having blowout fights nonstop,” an insider said.

But before she worries about shaking things up with a nasty split (the duo is parents to three kids, twins Hazel and Phinnaeus, 13, and Henry, 11), she needs to get her health back on track. “Richard has been encouraging to her to put on some weight, and she’s already taken his advice to heart,” the source shared. “This nightmare with Danny isn’t going to end anytime soon, and Julia’s going to need all the support she can get.”
