It might sound really cheesy, but we don’t think pizza is ever on the menu for Queen Elizabeth. During her visit to King Henry’s Walk Garden on Tuesday, Jan. 15, Kate Middleton accompanied a group of children as they cooked pizza in an outdoor oven.

It wasn’t long before the thought of the 92-year-old monarch enjoying some pizza crossed one little girl’s mind and she proceeded to ask Kate, 37, if the Queen has ever indulged herself in the cheesy, carb-filled goodness that is pizza. The question clearly caught the Duchess of Cambridge off-guard and she wasn’t too sure of the answer! “You know, that’s such a good question. I don’t know,” Kate responded. “I don’t know. Maybe next time I see her, shall I ask?”

Even though Kate didn’t appear to know the answer, Darren McGrady — who previously served as one of Queen Elizabeth’s personal chefs — once told The Telegraph that the monarch doesn’t have much of an extensive palette. “Sadly, the Queen is not a foodie,” he said of her lack of experimentation when it comes to new cuisines. “She eats to live, unlike Prince Philip who loves to eat and would stand and talk food all day.”

Darren even went into detail about the Queen’s strict diet. “No starch is the rule. No potatoes, rice, or pasta for dinner. Just usually something like grilled sole with vegetables and salad.” Not only that but Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall also once revealed during an appearance on MasterChef Australia that her famous mother-in-law also hates garlic. Apparently, the herb is a royal “no-no” and is typically never used for state banquets and other regal events where there’s lots of chatting among guests since it can cause bad breath.

During the rest of her visit, Kate met with volunteers to discuss the benefits of gardening and toured the outdoor space. And besides making some pizza, the mom-of-three also took part in a winter planting workshop and birdhouse building. “She enjoyed it even though it was quite chaotic,” Chris Young, London area outreach adviser for the Royal Horticultural Society, told People

While chatting with the children, Kate additionally couldn’t help but mention how her own kids, Prince George, 5, and Princess Charlotte, 3, would’ve loved the outdoor get-together. “George and Charlotte would love to be learning outside the classroom,” Kate said of her oldest kiddos. “It’s still fun inside, but it’s much better outside.”
