Kris Jenner’s Mom Mary Jo Campbell’s Cause of Death: What We Know So Far

Kris Jenner and her family are mourning the heartbreaking loss of Jenner’s mother, Mary Jo “MJ” Campbell. Jenner shared the news about her mother’s death on social media, and fans are flooding her with love and support.

Fans know how much Jenner loved her mother and always enjoyed the appearances she made on the family’s reality television shows. Now, many are wondering what Campbell’s cause of death was.

Mary ‘MJ’ Campbell’s Cause of Death

Jenner shared an older photo of her mother on Instagram on July 16 and included a lengthy caption.

“Today, we said goodbye to my beautiful Mommy MJ. There are no words that could ever capture what she has meant to me or the heartbreak of having to say goodbye. My mom was the heart of the family,” Jenner wrote.

As People noted, Campbell was 91. Jenner did not share specifics regarding her mother’s cause of death when she announced the loss on social media.

According to NBC 15 News, Campbell’s health had been declining over the past couple of years. Concerns about Campbell’s health had been mentioned on various episodes of The Kardashians, especially in the wake of the 2024 death of Jenner’s sister, Karen Houghton.

During Season 6, Episode 6 of The Kardashians, Jenner shared, “I know my mom struggles with so much right now because she is 90 and she’s frail.”

Jenner explained during that particular episode that Karen had died after a heart attack, and the loss took a serious toll on Campbell.

The episode included a scene with Jenner talking with her mom, who acknowledged she had been in a great deal of pain and struggled to get out of bed after Karen’s death.

Campbell appeared somewhat regularly on both the initial Kardashian’s reality TV series, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, as well as the current Hulu series, The Kardashians.
