They may have portrayed parents in movies or on TV, but Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard play real-life mom and dad just as well. The Hollywood stars have said the sweetest things when it comes to their personal experiences with raising their two daughters, Lincoln and Delta.

Kristen and Dax’s love story first began after meeting at a dinner party in 2007. Six years after the two started dating, they welcomed their eldest daughter, Lincoln, in March 2013. Months later in December, the Good Place actress and the CHiPs actor walked down the aisle. Kristen later gave birth to their youngest, Delta, in December 2014.

The Bad Moms star and the “Armchair Expert” podcast host have been in showbiz for quite some time now, but that doesn’t mean they want their kids exposed to the spotlight. In fact, Kristen and Dax are extremely private with Lincoln and Delta, which is why they share photos with emojis over their faces.

“There is a real threat of them getting stalked, or of a stranger coming up to them and knowing their name,” the doting mom once explained after an Instagram follower asked why they don’t show Lincoln and Delta’s faces. “It’s a safety thing … I don’t fault other parents for showing their kids when they don’t have the same safety concerns.”

Despite wanting to raise their kiddos as privately as possible, the longtime lovebirds are pretty honest when talking about their beloved children. Kristen has especially been forthcoming when discussing the struggles she’s faced being a mom of two young girls.

“Every day when you’re raising kids, you feel like you could cry or crack up and just scream, ‘This is ridiculous!’ … because there’s so much nonsense,” the Golden Globe nominee jokingly dished to Today in July 2016. “Whether it’s what they’re saying to you or the fact that there [is] avocado or poop on every surface.”

Despite having to overcome some challenges, Kristen knows she’s capable of accomplishing anything as a mom. Aside from teaching Lincoln and Delta to be strong and independent individuals, the Veronica Mars star said she’s “raising women who are not afraid to disagree.”

“Not for disagreement’s sake, but rather to use their voice when they need to,” she explained via Instagram in May. “To not be afraid to speak up and be clear when they have something valuable to add. To participate. To lean in. To use their gut and ethics to make decisions that sometimes fall outside the lines or buck the system.”
