Remember Kristi Yamaguchi?! The 46-year-old Olympic athlete returned to TV on Monday, Nov. 6 for a fun guest-star role on Season 25 of Dancing With the Stars. And, since it’s been a while since Kristi has been in the spotlight, her surprise appearance on the reality competition caused fans to wonder what she’s been up to in recent years — scoll down to see!

Why is Kristi Yamaguchi back on DWTS?

Kristi guest-starred on DWTS during Season 25 to perform a fun trio dance with celebrity Lindsey Stirling and pro Mark Ballas. The threesome danced a Jazz routine to Seth MacFarlane’s song “Let’s Face the Music and Dance.” It was so fun to see Kristi back on the dance floor again!

Did Kristi Yamaguchi win DWTS?

Yes! Kristi won Season 6 of Dancing With the Stars back in May 2008. While on the show, she was paired with pro dancer Mark Ballas. The second place winner of Kristi’s season was NFL star Jason Taylor, who danced with pro Edyta Śliwińska. A few seasons after she won, Kristi returned to DWTS during the finale episode of Season 16 for a special performance with fellow figure skater Dorothy Hamill.

Did Kristi Yamaguchi win a gold medal?

Yes! Kristi earned one gold medal for ladies’ singles figure skating at the 1992 Winter Olympic Games in Albertville, France. The athlete is additionally a two-time World champion (1991 and 1992), and the 1992 US champion in ladies’ singles. Kristi was inducted into the US Olympic Hall of Fame in 2005.

Is Kristi Yamaguchi married?

Yes! Kristi tied the knot with retired professional hockey player Bret Hedican in July 2000. The two previously met during the 1992 Olympics when Bret was playing hockey for team USA. So cute!

Does Kristi Yamaguchi have kids?

Yes! Kristi is a mom to two daughters, Keara Kiyomi Hedican, 14, and Emma Yoshiko Hedican, 11, with her husband, Bret. The Hedican family resides in Alamo, CA.

What is Kristi Yamaguchi doing now?

Since leaving her figure skating and Dancing With the Stars days behind, Kristi has written several books and focused on her charity work. As a writer, Kristi has authored four books: Figure Skating for Dummies (1997), Pure Gold (1997), Always Dream (1998), and Dream Big Little Pig (2011). In 2010, the mom-of-two worked as a special correspondent for the Today show during the Winter Olympics. In 2012, she created a woman’s active wear line called Tsu.ya by Kristi Yamaguchi. A portion of the company’s proceeds is donated to Kristi’s Always Dream Foundation, which supports early childhood literacy.
