A new series is about to debut on the Hallmark Channel’s streaming service, and it stars Party of Five alum Lacey Chabert. Leading up to the premiere of Paris is Always a Good Idea, Chabert and her co-stars have been sharing teasers with fans.

The series is based on the Jenn McKinlay book of the same name. Chabert plays the main character, Chelsea Martin, who travels to Paris with her “rival-turned-ally” to obtain a significant donation for the nonprofit she runs.

Chelsea’s trip soon turns into something quite different than what she planned, as she begins “an unexpected journey to reconnect with the three great loves she left behind.”

Scott Michael Foster plays Chelsea’s travel companion, Jason Knightly. Hallmark teases, “Chelsea retraces old footsteps and discovers that sometimes moving forward means first looking back.”

During an appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark, Chabert explained that she loved getting a chance to do a six-episode series instead of simply a movie.

“It was so nice to have the chance to dig a little deeper, and I think that’s what Hallmark does best, no matter what the story is. It’s always infused with genuine heartfelt moments.”

During an interview with TV Fanatic, Chabert and Foster hinted that Chelsea’s journey to rediscover love does not necessarily end how fans might anticipate.

In addition, Chabert shared that during the second half of the season, Chelsea’s life “does become a bit more complicated.”

Chabert teased, “It takes a turn that even I, when I was first reading the book, wasn’t expecting.”

She added, “I think there’s going to be some surprises…hopefully it’s gripping in a way where you can’t wait to see the next episode.”

Chabert’s comments suggest this won’t necessarily be a typical Hallmark romance. If her teases are any indication, viewers can expect plenty of heartfelt moments, and at least a few surprises, as Chelsea’s journey unfolds over the course of six episodes.
