‘Little House on the Prairie’ Reboot Season 2 Is Underway, and New BTS Photos Offer a Peek
Get ready for another action-packed season of nostalgic Ingalls family fun! Netflix’s hit Little House on the Prairie reboot just announced that the show is already in production, and Season 2 is on the way.
The official Little House on the Prairie Instagram account shared a post on August 30 featuring behind-the-scenes shots of actors Crosby Fitzgerald, Alice Halsey, Skywalker Hughes, and Luke Bracey and a caption reading, “Rain or shine, we’re out here filming! Have you watched Season 1 of Little House on the Prairie yet? If so, we’ve got good news…we’re officially in production on Season 2! We can’t wait to share what’s coming next.”
Fans flocked to the show’s post, ready for the next season. “Can’t wait,” gushed one commenter, as others added, “I love season one! I’ve watched it twice, and I could watch it again!”, “Yay!!! Thank you all for this. The original is one of my favorites. I love this one, too,” and “When will season 2 come out?”
Even though the post is the first real look at the BTS action (and of course, the first official announcement that filming is underway), the photos shouldn’t come as a total surprise.
In July, Netflix revealed that its hit show had been renewed and would get a second season soon. Showrunner Rebecca Sonnenshine told Netflix, “I’m incredibly grateful to our wonderful cast and crew, who put their hearts and hard work into making our first season come alive.”
Sonnenshine continued, “We can’t wait to share this new adaptation of the Little House books with the world, and we’re thrilled that Netflix is giving us the opportunity to continue the story.”
Netflix’s head of US and Canada scripted series, Jinny Howe also said, “We are delighted to renew this beautiful reimagining of Little House on the Prairie for a second season ahead of its Netflix debut. The exceptional work by Rebecca Sonnenshine and the entire cast and crew on Season 1 has established a rich foundation of storytelling for years to come. With its hopeful spirit and emotional authenticity, we’re confident that Little House will deliver even more of what fans truly love.”
As of now, there is no information on when production will wrap or when Season 2 will debut on Netflix. For right now, you’ll have to settle for a few pictures. Check out the sneak peek photos here.
