Marie Osmond Officially Joins ‘The Talk’ for Season 10, Replacing Creator and Cohost Sara Gilbert

It looks like Marie Osmond is dipping her toes into a new — but familiar — pond! CBS officially announced on Monday, May 6, that the iconic singer will be the newest cohost of the Emmy Award-winning talk show The Talk, replacing creator and cohost Sara Gilbert.

The 59-year-old beauty will be joining Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood, Carrie Ann Inaba and Eve for the show’s upcoming 10th season in September. Marie is a no-brainer choice, especially considering she has guest cohosted more than 40 episodes of it in the past.

“If you’ve seen Marie Osmond guest host on The Talk over the past nine seasons, you know she’s the perfect addition to the show,” Angelica McDaniel, an executive vice president at CBS, announced in the official press release. “Marie’s impressive career accomplishments have endeared her to fans throughout the decades. Her willingness to be authentic and share personal triumphs and struggles with honesty in the hopes of helping others always resonates. I’m excited to kick off season 10 with the multitalented, dynamic Marie at The Talk table.”

Over the years, Marie has established a very notable resume. She has dominated the entertainment business as she’s performed as a singer, talk show host, dancer, actor, author, entrepreneur and public speaker. Now, the “Paper Roses” songstress is ready to begin a new chapter of her life.

“It is such a joy for me to be joining The Talk in September. After guest cohosting and appearing as a guest on the show throughout the years, I am thrilled to now call this my day job,” Marie gushed in the press release. “I look forward to working with Sharon, Sheryl, Eve and Carrie Ann, who are such smart, strong, talented women whom I immensely respect. I cannot wait to share this exciting new chapter with the viewers and the CBS family.”

The exciting news comes just weeks after Marie and her brother, Donny Osmond, announced they were officially ending their 11-year Las Vegas residency run at the Flamingo Hotel and Resort.

“It’s been rumored that we’re bringing ‘Donny and Marie’ to an end here in Las Vegas,” Donny, 61, told host Good Morning America Paula Faris in late March. “We’re here to say it’s official.” The dynamic duo have been taking the stage together for more than 40 years, so the decision to end their residency was “very, very hard.”

Although we are sad to say goodbye to Marie and Donny in Sin City, we can’t watch to watch the brunette beauty on The Talk later this year!
