Meghan Markle’s Daily Diet Is Super Healthy, but She Still Indulges Her French Fry Cravings

We'd idolize Meghan Markle no matter what she looked like — she's got some impressive credentials, after all — but she happens to also be in great shape. Meghan once told Shape magazine that she likes "to eat as clean as possible," and tends to prepare fish and veggies at home rather than heading out to a restaurant. "I love to cook, so every day, I'm cooking something, even if it's just making a pesto that I can put a fridge for later in the week," she said.

She may be a future Duchess, but Meghan is still relatable — she doesn't take her healthy diet too seriously. "I am also a foodie, so on the weekends, all bets are off," she revealed. "I think if you deprive yourself of everything, you're just going to crave it more, so for me, it's just about finding that balance." (Her guilty pleasures? Italian food, Mexican food, and French fries.)

As for the nitty-gritty of the Suits actress's daily diet, E! News has reported that she drinks hot water with lemon when she wakes up, followed by a bowl of steel-cut oats with bananas and agave syrup for breakfast. Lunch is usually a salad with protein and dinner is often pasta with zucchini, parmesan cheese, and a glass of wine.

As for snacks between meals, the 36-year-old counts on apples with almond butter and sea salt. And she often eschews caffeine for that mid-afternoon energy boost. "I think trying to go for coffee or things like that only end up hurting you at the end," she said. "So to get a really good natural source of energy — like a great green juice or even kombucha… something that just gets right into your system — is a nice pick-me-up," she has said.

And when she and Harry do go out, they favor the London eatery Dean Street Townhouse for their date nights and their dinners with friends, E! reported. Still, it doesn't sound like restaurant meals are very common occurrences in Meghan's life, so Kensington Palace better keep its fridges stocked with healthful grub!
