Melissa Joan Hart Gets Emotional About Recent Health Scare: ‘Feeling Vulnerable Today’

So brave. Melissa Joan Hart took some time to open up about a recent health scare, and to discuss other things occurring in her life.

The 43-year-old took to Instagram on Wednesday, July 30, to share a video of herself talking about her health. “Just wanted to share my little journey of emotion this afternoon!” the actress captioned the post. “All is good but just feeling vulnerable today especially. Reminder to all women over 35 — get your mammogram!!”

In the clip, the Sabrina the Teenage Witch star revealed that she “had a mammogram last week” and the doctors called her “back in for another round of tests” which was “nerve wracking.” Not to worry though, as everything came back “clear.” She added, “I’m glad I did what I had to do and listened to the doctors. So far, so good.”

Aside from her health, the Melissa & Joey alum spoke about how she and  husband, Mark Wilkerson, will be going to Africa on a mission trip with their oldest son Mason, 13 — an adventure she is excited, but “nervous” about. The couple also share sons Braydon, 11, and Tucker, 6.

While it seems like all is alright with Melissa, she is also all about staying positive, and as been quite open about that in the past. “I feel like every time something bad has happened, I’ve come out of it because of my faith,” she said during her appearance on the Journeys of Faith with Paula Faris podcast. “It’s for a purpose He has. It’s His will be done.”

Melissa went on to explain how faith has helped her get through many obstacles, including raising her children as Presbyterian Christians, and how some questions were raised after her one son got into a disagreement with a Jewish friend. “When the mom [of the child] called me with a problem in sixth grade I was like well, ‘Do I regret telling my son that we don’t know if people believe in Jesus, so we don’t know their character?’” she asked.

“‘Is that a wrong thing to say? Did I set my son on the wrong path or was that the right thing to say and I should defend that?'” Melissa said, adding having a debate was healthy as long as you’re respecting other’s beliefs.
