Michael Douglas on Wife Catherine Zeta-Jones: ‘We’re More in Love Now After Our Separation’

Despite briefly separating in 2013, Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones' marriage is stronger than ever.

In a new interview, the 70-year-old actor opened up about his relationship with his wife today — and revealed they are completely smitten with each other!

"We had a little bump in the road. The problem in this business is that everything is so public. I love Catherine more than I ever have. We worked things out — if both people want to work something out and make it better, you can do it. You can’t do it if it’s just one person," he said of his marriage to the 45-year-old actress.

"We’re about to have our 15th wedding anniversary and it feels great," he added.

Michael and Catherine married in November 2000 and separated to "take some time apart to evaluate and work on their marriage" in May 2013, her rep confirmed at the time. By November of last year, the A-List couple had reconciled and continue to live together with their children, Dylan, 14, and Carys, 12, in NYC.

In August 2010, the Oscar winner revealed he was battling tongue cancer — a diagnosis that Michael admitted ultimately put a strain on his marriage and family.

"It feels like a rebirth after you go through cancer and you come out of it. You feel like you’re a child. You see priorities differently. You have a much deeper appreciation of marriage, of your children — you see everything a little bit clearer, and a little brighter," he told The Daily Mail on Saturday, June 27.
