Michelle And Barack Obama Celebrate 26th Anniversary With Sweet Shout-Outs

It’s been 26 years of wedded bliss for Barack Obama and Michelle Obama! The duo celebrated their milestone wedding anniversary on Wednesday, Oct. 3 with sweet shout-outs for one another — and to be honest, we’ve never encountered a cuter duo.

The former US President took to Twitter with a photo of the side of his wife’s face looking out at the clouds from an airplane. “Happy Anniversary, @MichelleObama. For 26 years, you’ve been an extraordinary partner, someone who can always make me laugh, and my favorite person to see the world with,” Barack, 57, wrote on the social media platform.

Michelle, 54, adorably quipped back to her hubby. “Thank you Barack Obama for 26+ years of love, trust, and respect – for being a man who always lifts up and honors me and our wonderful girls. Each day I’m with you, I’m reminded of what a treasure you truly are to us all,” she wrote. The pair previously wed in 1992 and are parents to two daughters, Malia, 20, and Sasha, 17. 

Luckily for us, Michelle and Barack are always posting adorable messages for one another on social media for special occasions whether it be another anniversary, Valentine’s Day, or birthdays. And last year, the two rang in 25 years of marriage with sweet messages as well. “Happy 25th anniversary @barackobama. A quarter of a century later, you’re still my best friend & the most extraordinary man I know. I ? you,” Michelle gushed next to a vintage pic from their wedding.

At the time, Barack surprised Michelle with a special video message at the end of her speech at the Pennsylvania Conference for Women. “Your strength, grace, determination honesty, and the fact that you look so good doing all of this, it’s remarkable. It’s no wonder that as people got to know you as I got to know you, that they fell in love,” he said. “It’s truly the best decision I ever made to be persistent enough to ask you out on a date that you finally gave in and I hope you feel the same way.”

And on this past day of love in Feburary, Michelle paid tribute to Barack in the sweetest way. “Happy #ValentinesDay to my one and only, @BarackObama. To celebrate the occasion, I’m dedicating a little Valentine’s Day playlist to you!” she wrote at the time. Barack added, “Happy Valentine’s Day, @MichelleObama. You make every day and every place better.” Hearts. Melted.
