The first season of a chilling new anthology micro-drama, National Enquirer Presents: The Drew Peterson Story, is inspired by the real-life true crime tale of the cop who murdered his third wife — and is suspected of murdering his fourth.
In October 2007, suburban Chicago mom-of-two Stacy Peterson vanished without a trace — and authorities quickly focused on her police officer husband, Drew. Stacy was Drew’s fourth wife, and within a week of her disappearance, cops were also investigating the 2004 death of his third wife, Kathleen Savio.
This exclusive clip from the new series features a dramatization of the lurid romance between Stacy and Drew — named Brittany and Mark in the series — which began while he was still married.
“He had this padlocked room in his basement and they would have sex in there as well,” the missing mom’s sister reveals in the clip. “But I don’t think she knew that he had a wife and kid upstairs.”
In real life, Drew was convicted of Savio’s murder in 2012 and is serving 38 years in prison for the crime. (He is also serving another 40 years after being found guilty in a murder-for-hire plot against the prosecutor at his trial.)

The former Bolingbrook, Illinois, police officer, now 72, remains the prime suspect in Stacy’s murder, though her body has never been found.
