All good things must come to an end, and Netflix has confirmed that the beloved series Gilmore Girls will be leaving the streaming giant at the end of this month.

Writing on its official X (formerly Twitter) account, Netflix broke the news, sharing, “It’s a show? It’s a lifestyle. It’s a religion. We are sorry to say that Gilmore Girls Seasons 1-7 will be leaving Netflix in the US on June 30. Raising a cup of coffee to every fan who visited Stars Hollow with us.”

Netflix became the streaming home for Gilmore Girls 12 years ago, and was so successful on the platform that in October 2015, Netflix and Warner Brothers came together to reunite the cast and crew and create a continuation, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, to serve as a proper ending to the series.

What is Gilmore Girls About?

For those who haven’t experienced Gilmore Girls yet, what are you waiting for? But two: the series tells the story of Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham) and her daughter, Rory Gilmore (Alexis Bledel), as they navigate life together in the fictional town of Stars Hollow.

The series balances family drama, comedy, and romance in a unique and fast-paced style. Originally broadcast on The WB and later on the CW from October 5, 2000, until the series’ cancellation on May 15, 2007.

Throughout its run, the series took home various awards, including AFI Awards, Teen Choice Awards, TCA Awards, and Young Artist Awards.

Where can I stream Gilmore Girls once it leaves Netflix?

While the series is leaving Netflix at the end of the month on June 30, 2026, the show is currently available in full on Hulu and its sibling app Disney+.
