Penn Jillette Loses 105 Pounds in Four Months With “Extreme Low-Calorie Diet”

Magician, comedian and actor Penn Jillette has debuted his recent weight loss — and the star looks almost unrecognizable!

In a new interview, the 60-year-old illusionist revealed he shed 105 pounds in just four months by following an “extreme low-calorie program” in which he consumed only 1,000 calories per day.

“I eat unbelievable amounts of food but just very, very, very healthy food,” Penn said of his diet, which consists of no animal products, no processed grains and no added sugar or salt.

The 'Penn & Teller' star explained he usually skips breakfast and eats an “enormous salad” with vinegar dressing everyday for lunch. For dinner he consumes a meal of three pounds of greens, three servings of black or brown rice, a vegetable stew and fruit for dessert.

“I could probably have a steak or a doughnut every couple of weeks, but I just haven’t felt like it,” he said of his altered eating habits. “When you’re feeling as bad as I felt, and you go to feeling as good as I feel, the temptation to go back to doing what you were doing when you felt bad is not very great.”

Though the father-of-two admitted he didn't exercise at all during his extreme weight loss phase, which culminated when he hit his goal weight on March 5, he now follows a weight lifting, juggling and 10-mile tricycle ride workout routine every other day.

“Now it’s really fun to exercise. The only hard part of exercise is keeping it hard enough to be hard. I have so much energy and I feel so good. I’m just plain happier," he told 'People.'
