From Love Story to Glam, Ali MacGraw has undergone quite a fascinating transformation in the Hollywood spotlight.

Ali never expected for Love Story to become such a worldwide phenomenon.

“I am probably more shocked than anyone at the [enduring] response,” she told AARP in August 2017. “I have traveled to all corners of the world, and it is something of an American classic by now.”

Ali kicked off her career as a model in the ‘60s as well as a stylist before venturing into the world of commercials. She made her first credited acting appearance in 1969’s Goodbye, Columbus. But her biggest role by far came at the start of the ‘70s and skyrocketed her to stardom.

The New York native scored the role of Jennifer “Jenny” Cavilleri in the romantic drama Love Story opposite Ryan O’Neal. The film earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Actress and won her a Golden Globe.
