How sweet! Prince Harry and Meghan Markle paid tribute to Harry's late mother, Princess Diana, with the flowers at their royal wedding on Saturday, May 19. The day's floral designer, Philippa Craddock, created a stunning archway of flowers over the entrance of St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle that predominantly featured white garden roses, which were Diana's favorite flower.
"The process has been highly collaborative, free-flowing, creative, and fun. The final designs will represent them as a couple, which I always aim to achieve in my work, with local sourcing, seasonality, and sustainability being at the forefront," Craddock said in a statement prior to the big day before adding that working with Harry and Meghan was "an absolute pleasure." The royal wedding floral arrangement also featured Meghan's favorite flower, peonies.

In the weeks leading up to Harry and Meghan's royal wedding, Kensington Palace confirmed that the couple would be working with Craddock. "The displays in St George's Chapel will feature foliage from The Crown Estate and Windsor Great Park, and will use seasonal plants including branches of beech, birch, and hornbeam, as well as white garden roses, peonies, and foxgloves," the palace said in a statement.
The designs will reflect the wild and natural landscapes from which many of the plants will be drawn. The Royal Parks will also supply pollinator-friendly plants from their wildflower meadows. These plants provide a great habitat for bees and help to sustain healthy and biodiverse ecosystems," the statement added.

Upon her royal appointment, Craddock said, "I am excited and honored to have been chosen by Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle to design and create their wedding flowers."
Last year, to mark the 20th anniversary of Princess Diana's passing, a temporary garden also filled with white roses was erected at Kensington Palace's sunken garden. Named the "White Garden," Prince William and Harry worked on the personal project, producing a stunning tribute which saw large terracotta pots filled with white roses placed around the reflective pond.
