They may not be seen together often, but Queen Elizabeth and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall decided to change all that up by teaming up for a very special reason.

On Tuesday, October 15, the royal duo attended an important service at Westminster Abbey to celebrate the 750th anniversary of Edward the Confessor’s original church being built — it was constructed under the reign of King Henry III in the year 1269!

“The Queen and The Duchess of Cornwall at Westminster Abbey for a service to commemorate the day 750 years ago when the remains of Edward the Confessor were enshrined in the church,” a message read on the official royal family Instagram. “This consecration of the church ground was followed by the building of the great Gothic abbey which has become the setting for many Royal celebrations and commemorations.”

People of course were loving the rare outing, as they took to the comments section to reply. “Queen Elizabeth and the Duchess of Cornwall looked lovely for their outing today,” one person said. Another added, “Her Majesty is always glorious!” One commenter even chimed in with, “The Queen’s attire is beautiful! Such a gorgeous combination of colors.”

Not seen during this event was the Queen’s husband, Prince Philip, nor her son — and Camilla’s husband — Prince Charles. However, it seems like it was a great day regardless!

Prince William and Prince Harry‘s grandmother has been making a lot of public showings recently — on Friday, October 11, she made sure to make an appearance during the opening of a new development “of 70 homes” for vets.

“Haig Housing is the country’s largest military housing charity, with over 1,500 properties across the UK, providing affordable and accessible accommodation to armed forces veterans — some who have been severely wounded — and their families,” an Instagram caption read next to several pics from the day. There was also a clip of the Queen meeting some fans. “The Bowman family welcomed The Queen into their new home. Michael served in the Grenadier Guards for 14 years, and is one of the newest residents in the development.” So great!
