Hollywood actor Rob Lowe has revealed that he communicated with a ghost whilst filming his new show The Lowe Files alongside his sons Matthew and John Owen. The new series follows Rob, 53, and his sons as they travel around the US exploring the most infamous unsolved mysteries in the country.

During a recent stint on the Television Critics Association’s press tour, a journalist asked The West Wing actor if he has been able to speak with spirits during the series — and surprisingly his answer was "yes!"

“Yeah — now. I hadn’t [been able to speak to spirits] previously… It was through the Ovilus,” Rob said. “There’s a device they use that the theory is it can translate… that the spirits can talk through this device, for a lack of better term. Don’t ask me how, don’t ask me the science, I don’t know.” He went on to say, “John just thinks it’s randomly programmed to say words at any given time, which it could be, but how does it know to say the word?”

Rob revealed that it was a woman he communicated with via the Ovilus. “It said the dead woman’s name where she was murdered. Judge for yourself… I don’t want to seem like a nut. I don’t want to end my career here,” the actor joked. “Too late?”

Rob has described the new series as “Anthony Bourdain in a blender with Scooby-Doo.” It is unclear if Rob and his sons were able to solve any of the mysteries they encountered, but Rob says he is happy to just spend the time with his kids. “We want to solve it, but if we don’t, the point of it is a father and sons on the road, making memories.”
