Rob Lowe’s Son John Hilariously Trolls Him During ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’ Interview — Watch!

This is exactly why we love Rob Lowe‘s family! When the 55-year-old actor appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Monday, December 2, his son John Owen, hilariously sat backstage and trolled everything his dad said during the interview.

Ellen DeGeneres started off by explaining the whole situation to Rob, who jokingly said “it’s going to be brutal” because his kids — Matthew, 26, and John, 24 — make fun of him on social media all the time. “They troll me, I think, as the kids call it,” he laughed.

The first topic was about Rob being featured in People‘s “Sexy at Every Age” spread, but not officially receiving the title of “Sexiest Man Alive.” This year, that honor was given to John Legend.

“I’ve never been the ‘Sexiest Man Alive.’ Never! There’s always been somebody sexier, and I’m very angry about it,” he said, attempting to explain why he thought he hadn’t won it yet before John interrupted.

“Please stop, guys,” he wrote. “Honestly surprised he’s not shirtless right now!”

However, Rob was determined to tell Ellen’s audience why he has never been given the distiction. “I blame Russian collusion, honestly. This is an election I should have won,” he joked again.

After talking about his “back-handed compliment” from the magazine, The West Wing alum then revealed what he loves the most about Christmastime.

“I have an obsession. You know me — I’m not really involved in the house, I live in the house, I love the house, but that’s [my wife] Sheryl‘s domain,” he said. “But when it comes to the Christmas tree, I am all over it. I’m obsessed with it drying out too soon.”

John didn’t disagree with his dad’s statement. “It’s the only thing he’s ever done around the house,” he joked backstage.

“He’s right about this,” Rob admitted. “I have a phobia about the pine needles, they get all brittle and fall and then they’re just going to be flammable.”

We don’t know how Rob will be decorating his tree this year, but hopefully his kids won’t troll him if he decides to share a pic of it to Instagram.
