Sandra Oh Bringing Her Parents As Her 2018 Emmys Dates Is The Cutest Thing You’ll See Today

How sweet! Sandra Oh brought her parents, Young-Nam Oh and Joon-Soo Oh, as her dates to the 2018 Emmys on Monday, Sept. 17 and videos of the trio walking the red carpet together are beyond cute. 

Once clips of Sandra, 47, with her mom and dad hit the internet, fans couldn’t contain their obsession with the Oh family. “Her parents are literally the cutest thing I’ve ever seen no wonder she is adorable #Emmys,” one person wrote on Twitter with another similarly adding, “SANDRA OH BROUGHT HER PARENTS TO THE #EMMYS AND I LITERALLY CRIED. OMG THE FJGKFLDSGHJ CUTEST!!”

Some people also praised Sandra’s mom, Young-Nam, for wearing a traditional Korean dress called a hanbok on the red carpet. “Sandra Oh brought her parents and her mom is rocking a hanbok!! #Emmys,” one person tweeted. Another said, “Sandra Oh came with her mom who is dressed in a hanbok! #Emmys.”

Sandra is nominated tonight for the coveted Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series award for her role as Eve Polastri in the BBC America series Killing Eve. The former Grey’s Anatomy star made history with her nominaton as she’s the first ever Asian woman to be recognized in the Lead Actress Emmys category. 

While walking the red carpet, Sandra’s mom, Young-Nam, couldn’t help but gush how proud she is of her daughter during an interview with Variety. “I’m so proud of her,” Mrs. Oh said while her husband, Joon-Soo, proudly smiled at Sandra.

Earlier this year, Sandra herself opened up about receiving her historic Emmys nod. “It’s like, we’ve got to start somewhere. And I’m happy to get that ball rolling, because what I hope happens is that next year and the next year and the next year, we will have presence. And the presence will grow not only to Asian-Americans, you know, from yellow to brown, but to all our other sisters and brothers. Our First Nations sisters and brothers. Our sisters and brothers of different sizes and different shapes. If I can be a part of that change, like, yeah, let’s celebrate it,” she told the New York Times.
