In her final sale of film memorabilia, acting legend Debbie Reynolds netted an impressive $2 million for items such as Elvis Presley's grand piano and Dorothy's ruby slippers from The Wizard of Oz.

The Singin' in the Rain star first began selling off her vast collection in 2010, culminating in three separate auctions over four years. The 82-year-old had been expanding her treasure trove for over six decades, beginning with pieces found on the MGM studio lot.

"I've been in the motion picture business since 1948," she said. "MGM was like my home; when the studio decided to sell the entire property, it was very sentimental to me."

She used her "entire savings" to buy everything she could, hoping to one day open a museum to showcase her extraordinary assortment of items. Following several failed attempts, Debbie settled on selling off the beloved mementos.

"I decided to auction the collection in the hopes that other individuals, collectors and museums might be able to preserve this legacy," she explained. "I have come to realize and accept that these cherished items will find new and happy homes."

Some of the more noteworthy items from this final sale include a Rat Pack tuxedo ensemble, Scarlett O'Hara's pale peach bonnet worn by Vivien Leigh in Gone With the Wind and Orson Welles' minx coat from Citizen Kane.

The most expensive piece of memorabilia sold was a Vistavision Motion Picture Camera used to shoot George Lucas' Star Wars amongst other films.

All in all, the three sales brought in a total of roughly $28 million.
