Shannen Doherty Hits the Red Carpet for First Time Since Revealing Breast Cancer Diagnosis

The 44-year-old actress stepped out for the first time since announcing she is battling breast cancer at the Baby2Baby Gala in LA on Saturday, Nov. 14.

At the star-studded charity event — also attended by Julie Bowen and Soleil Moon Frye, among others! — Shannen wowed on the red carpet in a black Vera Wang gown, matching sandals and simple diamond jewelry.

In August, the former Beverly Hills, 90210 star revealed she had been diagnosed with invasive breast cancer while filing a lawsuit against her business managers, whom she claimed allowed her health insurance coverage to lapse.

According to court documents, Shannen said her managers previously ignored an invoice for payment of her premium last year and her insurance was consequently cancelled. Because of this, the actress subsequently claimed she wasn't able to re-enroll in her health insurance until 2015 and thus missed regular doctors visits, causing her breast cancer to go undetected for some time.

"Yes, I have breast cancer, and I am currently undergoing treatment," Shannen confirmed just days later. "I am thankful to my family, friends and doctors for their support and, of course, my fans who have stood by me."
