For the 20th season of Dancing with the Stars, professional dancer and choreographer Sharna Burgess is sharing her inside scoop with ‘Closer’ readers — everything from show highlights and behind the scenes secrets to her experience dancing with Army veteran and double amputee, Noah Galloway! Read her week four blog post below.
Disney Week is my favorite week on 'Dancing with the Stars' because it's so much fun! I had a blast dressing up as Jasmine from 'Aladdin' and truly felt like a princess.
I wanted to dance to the 'Aladdin' song 'A Whole New World' because I thought it was a great representation of my experiences dancing with Noah. The song is very inspirational and the lyrics sum up a motto we have agreed to since the very beginning — to not focus on what we can’t do, but what we can do.

The Foxtrot involves rise and fall, which Noah was concerned about because the movements really weren't possible with his injuries. But Noah has succeeded time and time again and I knew he would impress the judges with his sway and strong frame — and he did!

I know how much Noah is capable of and it’s up to me to reinforce that week in and week out with what can sometimes be tough love. He doesn’t have control over his leg and can’t change it. What he can control is taking what I teach him and improving each and every day. Noah took my advice to “suck it up, princess” and focused on going out and dancing last night! I am incredibly proud of him and how much he continues to absorb and deliver every week.

We finished team rehearsal last night and — take my word for it! — this will be a tough dance. Both teams are super strong. I love our song the most and what we started to create was so much fun! Our other dance is a Rumba, which I am seriously looking forward to rehearsing.
Thank you all so much for the wonderful support for Team Shway — it means the world to us and it is so incredible to know we're making you proud!
Xo,
Sharna
