Beloved entertainer Shelley Fabares died on August 22 at 82, leaving behind an impressive legacy of accomplishments and a sizable net worth.
The Coach alum began acting and singing at a young age and is known for a handful of iconic projects. As a result, according to Celebrity Net Worth, Fabares’ net worth at the time of her death was estimated to be approximately $6 million.
As People shared, Fabares was just 3 when she began modeling. At the age of 10, she landed a role in the television series Letter to Loretta. Just a few years later, the entertainer began playing Mary Stone on The Donna Reed Show.
A few seasons later, Fabares and her TV show brother, Paul Petersen, were tapped to do some singing on the show. That led to the release of the song “Johnny Angel,” which topped the Billboard Hot 100 in 1962.

Eventually, Fabares released a total of four albums and landed acting roles in several Elvis Presley movies.
Although she continued acting, in 1994 she talked to The Roanoke Times about her struggles to find good parts for several years after The Donna Reed Show ended.
“I felt when the time was ripe, I would work again,” she explained. “On a lot of levels, I let nothing faze me,” she noted of those challenging years.
Once she landed a role with Mannix, work became steadier.
Her career flourished with numerous television roles in subsequent years, including work on Brian’s Song, The Practice, One Day at a Time, and, beginning in 1989, Coach.
In 1984, Fabares married Mike Farrell, beloved by many for his time on M*A*S*H. The two remained married until her death. In a statement released to People, Fabares’ family remembered her grace, warmth, humor, and generosity.
As much as fans will remember Fabares for her extensive performing career, the family noted, “To those closest to her, her greatest legacy was personal: the love she gave so freely, the friendships she treasured, and the family bonds she held close.”
