What Happened to Hunter Tylo? Where the Actress Who Played Taylor on ‘The Bold and The Beautiful’ Is Now

For decades, Hunter Tylo entertained audiences around the world as Taylor Hayes on the CBS soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful, but the actress walked away from the role in 2019 and hasn’t been seen since, so where is Tylo?

Hunter Tylo Made Her Soap Opera Debut in 1985

Tylo began her soap opera career in 1985 as Robin McCall on ABC’s All My Children for three years before making a brief appearance on the NBC soap opera Days of Our Lives in 1989 as Marina Toscano, the first wife of Steve “Patch” Johnson (Steven Nichols).

But it wasn’t until 1990 that the actress accepted the role that would make her a household name: Dr. Taylor Hayes on The Bold and the Beautiful.

Taylor originally began on the series as an oncologist supporting Caroline Spencer (Joanna Johnson) at the end of her life. Hayes had immediate chemistry with Ronn Moss and was quickly cast in a love triangle opposite the original character, Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang).

Hayes would famously leave the series multiple times, with her most significant exit occurring in 1996, when she left to appear on the Aaron Spelling primetime series Melrose Place.

However, the role was not meant to be, as Tylo was wrongfully terminated before filming any episodes after she announced she was pregnant. Tylo subsequently sued Spelling on grounds of discrimination and was awarded $4.8 million.

Following her unceremonious exit from Melrose Place, the actress returned to The Bold and the Beautiful, appearing on and off until her final appearance in 2019.

Where is Hunter Tylo Now?

Since leaving The Bold and the Beautiful, Tylo has moved away from the camera and Hollywood and is now focusing on being an avid wildlife oil painter.

Tylo showcases her work on her official Instagram account and has teased future projects, including a YouTube channel featuring “demos” of her work and her own autobiography. Describing the writing process on Reddit, Tylo shared, “I am writing my autobiography myself with my own voice, in a classy, non-sarcastic fashion in order to have an authentic interaction with the reader.”
