Queen Elizabeth is now a great-grandmother of 12! Four of her grandchildren welcomed babies in 2021, — including two who are first time parents — and the monarch couldn’t be happier.

Following the birth of Archie Harrison in May 2019, Her Majesty became the proud great-grandmother of 8 royal kids. The queen’s great-grandchild made his appearance shortly after mom Meghan Markle gave birth to him.

At the time, the former Suits actress shared the good news of the little bundle of joy’s arrival with Prince Harry and revealed that Elizabeth’s longtime husband, Prince Philip, was actually the first member of the royal family to meet Archie!

“We just bumped into the duke as we were walking by, which was so nice,” Meg told members of the press who gathered outside Windsor Castle as her son made his public debut on May 8. “So it will be nice to introduce the baby to the family.” Harry sweetly added, “Another great-grandchild.” Aww!

Shortly after meeting his great-grandfather, Archie was introduced to his great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth, as well as Meghan’s mom, Doria Ragland. Harry and his beloved — who tied the knot in an iconic royal wedding in May 2018 — gushed about the sweet moment in an Instagram post shared to their page.

“This afternoon Their Royal Highnesses introduced Her Majesty The Queen to her eighth great-grandchild at Windsor Castle,” the Duke and Duchess of Sussex wrote in a statement shared alongside a heartwarming pic of the interaction. “The Duke of Edinburgh and the duchess’ mother were also present for this special occasion.”

If you thought 12 great-grandchildren was a lot, the beloved monarch is also a grandmother of eight. Not to mention, she shares four kids — Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward — with her husband of over 70 years.

Like any typical family, the British royals are no strangers to expanding their brood. So, when baby Archie arrived, it’s no surprise the entire family couldn’t wait to meet the newest addition.
