‘Wonder Years’ Icon Brings Legendary Villainess Back to ‘General Hospital’
Alley Mills returns as Heather Webber on ‘General Hospital’ November 5. The iconic villain is back in Port Charles ready to stir up trouble this fall.
Heather Webber is coming home to Port Charles, which is bound to bring chaos to the General Hospital scene. According to TV Insider, Alley Mills will be reprising the role of the iconic wacky villainess this fall.
“We’re thrilled to have Alley Mills back as Heather,” executive producer Frank Valentini said in a statement to TV Insider. “There’s never a dull moment when Heather Webber is in Port Charles, and Alley is ready to stir up some trouble!”
Mills, who played Norma Arnold on the classic ABC primetime series The Wonder Years, was last seen as Heather in 2024. The character was originated by Cher’s half-sister, Georganne LaPiere, in 1976. After LaPiere left, Heather was briefly played by Mary O’Brien before Robin Mattson turned Heather into one of the most famous GH characters of all time. Mattson last appeared as Heather in 2017, per Soap Central.
Although Mills had a successful primetime career, she has also spent multiple years in the soap world bringing Pam Douglas to life on The Bold and the Beautiful, according to IMDb. As the sister of Stephanie Forrester (Susan Flannery), Pam is still Eric Forrester’s (John McCook) trusty cook, with Pam’s famous lemon bars often delighting the family.
In 2022, Mills began playing Heather and even took home two Daytime Emmys for the role, a character who was always on the shady side, but who had turned into a full-blown serial killer known as The Hook. She was also revealed to be Ryan Chamberlain’s (Jon Lindstrom) ex-lover and the mother of the late Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl). Laura (Genie Francis) is currently the legal guardian of Esme’s son, Ace Cassadine.
After Heather was released from jail when it turned out cobalt from an artificial hip altered her psychological state and turned her into a murderer, she moved to Arizona with her son, Steven (Scott Reeves), who had also recently been released from prison. When she left, Heather’s only allies in town were Laura, and Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst), Heather’s daughter-in-law via Franco Baldwin (Roger Howarth), who is also Steven’s half-sister.
While there is no word on what Heather will be up to when she makes her comeback or whether she will associate with Laura and Elizabeth, you can expect to see her hit your GH screens on November 5.
