Alex Trebek Was Courtside at the Lakers Game on Christmas — And People Were Super Happy

He has been battling state 4 pancreatic cancer, but Alex Trebek still had the strength to make a lot of people happy recently by showing up at a Lakers game with his wife, Jean.

On Wednesday, December 25, the 79-year-old appeared at the Lakers versus Clippers game at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. The iconic Jeopardy! host sat alongside his longtime love.

Fans everywhere was ecstatic to see the TV personality, as they took to Twitter to express their glee. “Alex Trebek at the game and he looks good y’all,” one onlooker said. “Warms my heart.”

Alex revealed his diagnosis in March 2019 — but he has been open throughout his entire journey. “”I’m not going to stop now,” he recently said on Twitter. “Despite what you may have heard, I’m feeling good. I’m continuing with my therapy and we — by we, the staff — is already working on our next season, the 36th year of Jeopardy!,” he said on Twitter after the retirement question was laid out. “So I look forward to seeing you once again in September with all kinds of good stuff.”

Other notable faces have spoke out for Alex as well, including Dr. Oz. “I spoke to Alex in Los Angeles. I mean he’s down,” the TV personality exclusively revealed to Closer Weekly while attending the Global Lyme Alliance’s New York City Gala on October 10. “He’s struggling with the different forms of chemotherapy that are being offered to him but I told him, and I do believe this, he’s soulful man who’s always been optimistic about life — keep his confidence. The longer he stays alive, the better able we are to catch up to his pancreatic cancer.”

“If you know Alex behind the scenes, he’s a golden hearted man who is able to give so much to so many people and the passion and the support you see on ‘Jeopardy!’ is what he does in person as well,” he continued. “I’ve always admired him. When I did my 1000th show, I asked for only one guest to surprise me and I didn’t think they’d get him, and it was Alex Trebek, and in fact he walked out and surprised me!”
